Brookbanks is excited to launch this years' Graduate Rotation Programme!

This week, Brookbanks welcomed six new graduates to our teams to take part in our Graduate Rotation Programme. Over the next 18 months, the graduates will spend time within each of our Groups to gain exposure to the entirety of our business.

As the week draws to a close, we asked our newest team members to let us know how their first week at Brookbanks has been and what they are looking forward to most as they look forward to commencing their rotation.

Annabelle Wade

My first week at Brookbanks has been a really positive experience. From day one, I have felt welcomed and supported by everyone which has made settling in much easier. This week has given me the chance to get to know the team, learn more about the company and ease into my new role. I have enjoyed gaining an insight into the different areas of the company and already feel part of a collaborative and friendly environment. It has been a great introduction, and I appreciate the time people have taken to answer my questions and share their knowledge.
Next week I am excited to start my first rotation in Civil Engineering, and begin developing new skills through hands-on experience. Looking ahead, I’m eager to immerse myself in the work at Brookbanks and get involved in as many opportunities as possible!

My first week at Brookbanks has been illuminating, it’s been great to witness the company’s culture firsthand. Conversing with various members of Brookbanks across all departments has provided me with a greater understanding of the operations of each of them, and how they seamlessly work together.

Various people at Brookbanks across all levels have imparted crucial advice that will help me as I begin my rotation at the company, beginning in the Cost & Commercial department. It has also been great to meet the other graduates who will be beginning the same journey that I am embarking on, and I look forward to developing with them over the coming months.

I am leaving my first week at Brookbanks assured that this is the firm that I would love to develop at professionally and personally. This is a place with a hardworking and welcoming workforce, and I look forward to contributing to the incredible work being done here.

This first week at Brookbanks has been very informative and useful. I’ve gotten practice with all the new systems and work, so I’ll be ready for my first rotation with the Land, Development, and Community team. I’m starting to challenge myself, utilise my skills, and begin my career in the working world, gaining first hand experience on projects, in meetings, and through collaboration.

It was also so great getting to know people at Brookbanks and the other graduates as we’ve worked together. Everyone is so nice, and it’s very easy to ask for help, as they are all willing to assist.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and welcomed me in. I’m looking forward to working with everyone and beginning my first rotation.

Delivering Education Infrastructure: Direct Delivery or Section 106 Contributions?

May 22, 2026

Education facilities play a vital role in shaping successful residential communities. Alongside providing essential school places for growing populations, they help create well-connected neighbourhoods, support long-term community wellbeing and contribute positively to placemaking outcomes. For developers bringing forward significant housing schemes, deciding how education infrastructure obligations should be delivered is rarely straightforward. In most cases, this involves either directly delivering a new education facility as part of the development, or making a financial contribution through a Section 106 Agreement to support provision elsewhere. Each approach carries implications for cost, programme, planning strategy and the long-term success of the development.
