Shawn has worked in the industry for over 26 years, and is an expert in all aspects of sustainable design, energy reduction strategies and engineering. He initially trained as a Physicist, later becoming a Chartered Physicist, before becoming a Chartered Building Services Engineer and later also trained as a Building Surveyor in order to gain an understanding of the whole built environment.
Shawn has been involved and led on many sustainability projects and frameworks, taking projects from initial conception through to completion and occupation monitoring.
Shawn has always been in client facing roles and relishes the interaction, whether discussing clients’ requirements, potential solutions to simple and complex issues with clients, developers and their teams, designers, planners, contractors, and estates and facilities. His knowledge of the whole design, construction and operational processes and the disciplines involved, through working on a varied and interesting portfolio of projects, enables him to comment on most design, construction and operational issues and policies and also the strategic considerations to achieve net zero targets as well as organisation sustainability obligations and reporting.
