Principal Building Physics Engineer

Theodora Vagiou is a Principal Building Physics Engineer at Brookbanks, supporting clients and project teams with building performance, sustainability and low-carbon design strategies across a diverse range of sectors. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, she helps deliver practical, commercially focused solutions that improve building performance and support sustainability objectives from concept through to completion. Theodora brings extensive experience across Industrial & Logistics, Residential, High Rise, Education, Healthcare, Culture & Heritage, Sports & Leisure, Energy & Infrastructure, Science & Technology, Commercial, Defence and Government projects. Throughout her career, she has led the development of energy strategies and building performance assessments for a wide variety of complex developments, helping clients navigate planning requirements, achieve sustainability targets and improve long-term building outcomes.

A particular strength is Theodora’s expertise in dynamic simulation modelling, operational energy analysis, overheating assessments and whole-life carbon evaluation. She has a proven track record of shaping sustainability strategies, supporting net zero ambitions and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically robust and achievable solutions. Alongside project delivery, she is passionate about mentoring colleagues, building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Theodora holds an MSc in Low Carbon Building Design & Modelling from Loughborough University and a BEng in Environmental Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. She is a Level 5 EPC Assessor (LCEA), an IES VE Certified User, a former WELL Accredited Professional, an Affiliate Member of CIBSE and a Member of the Society of Digital Engineering (SDE).
