Tom Mitchell

Technical Director, Civil Engineering Group

Experience: 

Tom is a technically minded Civil Engineer with 17 years’ experience within the consultancy sector and is a chartered Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE). His property and construction experience has been utilised across a variety of sectors, working with public and private sector clients including local authorities, Government agencies, the MoD, and several major contractors and developers. He has extensive experience of acting in design coordination and project management roles on major infrastructure development works. 

Tom leads Brookbanks Engineering team in their Bristol office and is currently shaping and supporting the growth of this office. Tom currently works on a number of our major development projects, largely leading the strategic infrastructure aspects through planning, detailed design and delivery stages.       

Tom was most recently the technical lead for the Laydown Area and Eastern Access infrastructure delivery on the NLHPP for NLWA. This comprised of a £25M civil contractor Laydown facility, highway scheme, new overbridge and existing bridge refurbishment scheme in North London. Responsible for the production and delivery of in house and external consultants designs across civil, structural, geotechnical and service coordination disciplines. The new infrastructure will support the construction of a major new ERF for seven North London boroughs.

  • Tom is an avid swimmer, and previously competed at a national level. He also enjoys skiing and football.
