The redevelopment of the former Drakelow Power station includes plans for a new 1.5km bypass around Walton on Trent as well as a 150m-long three-span bridge over the River Trent. The bypass will ease traffic congestion in the village as well as removing the need to use the existing 70-year-old bailey bridge.

The Outcome

We provided project and commercial management of the bridge and bypass, including early contractor involvement, value engineering and collaboration with both Staffordshire and Derbyshire County Councils.
