Yesterday, the Brookbanks team came together for an unforgettable day of cycling, community, and charity at the Brookbanks Sportive 2025. Held in the scenic Chilterns around Watlington, the event offered four route options: 14 miles, 33 miles, 57 miles, and 83 miles catering to everyone from casual riders to seasoned cyclists.

The atmosphere was electric as clients, employees, and supporters gathered at the Watlington Cricket Club Pavilion, ready to take on the challenge and raise funds for a cause close to our hearts. Thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiasm of all involved.

We are proud to announce that we raised £16,384, with money still rolling in for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, a charity dedicated to improving cancer prevention, treatment, and support across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales.

This year’s fundraising was especially meaningful, inspired by the journey of our own Danny Lloyd-Jones, Associate Utilities Director and Trustee of Lingen Davies, whose personal battle with cancer has motivated our commitment to supporting this vital organization.

A Huge Thank You

We extend our heartfelt thanks to:

  • All our sponsors, whose support made this event possible.
  • Our clients and employees, who showed up in force, pedalled with passion, and helped us surpass our fundraising goal.
  • Sportive UK, for expertly organizing the routes and logistics, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all riders

From feed stations stocked with snacks to scenic countryside views and a shared sense of purpose, the Brookbanks Sportive 2025 was more than just a bike ride it was a celebration of resilience, community, and giving back.

We look forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better. Until then, thank you for riding with us and supporting Lingen Davies.

Delivering EV Charging Infrastructure: Helping Developments Meet Today’s Demands and Tomorrow’s Expectations

At Brookbanks, we know EV charging becomes far more manageable when it’s approached as part of a wider development picture rather than an isolated task. Rising regulatory demands, limited capacity, cost pressures and the realities of underground or enclosed parking all interact in ways that can affect programme, viability and long‑term performance. This article looks at the recurring challenges we see across residential, commercial and mixed‑use projects and the practical steps that help developments meet Part S requirements, manage grid limitations, integrate load‑balancing and smart‑charging systems, and plan for solar PV and battery storage. The aim is to provide clear, grounded insight that helps teams design EV strategies that genuinely stand up to modern development demands.
