Wixam Park
Brookbanks was approached due to a significant flooding issue affecting a residential parcel and a school site at Wixam Park. The initial flood mapping from the Environment Agency (EA) indicated that these areas were at risk, and a consultant for the potential purchaser suggested that no viable solution existed.
Our Role
- Review and Analysis: We reviewed the EA flood mapping and identified the mechanisms causing localized flooding.
- Solution Development: Proposed land level alterations and the use of storage crates to mitigate flooding.
- Implementation: Created revised mapping showing the improved flood management.
The Outcome
- Successfully mitigated the flooding risk without needing a Section 73 masterplan alteration.
