Cleveland Clinic's third London facility, the Moorgate Outpatient Centre, opened in December 2023 at 55 Moorgate. This repurposed retail and office space offers outpatient appointments, diagnostics, and general practice services.

Our Role

The 13,000 sq. ft, 50-room clinic includes infrastructure for specialist services in cardiology, dermatology, digestive diseases, gynecology, urology etc. Alterations involved replacing the raised access floor, larger modified ventilation system, pumped drainage to a central gravity network, a new lighting scheme and data/communications network.  A dedicated plant room on the ground floor was constructed to support new systems such as air handling units and a new lift for patient use. The clinic’s MRI scanner was hoisted through a gap made by temporarily removing two windows in the first-floor facade and moved to a soundproofed room with a reinforced structure.

Our first appointment was to coordinate all services within the void space using Revit. A full re-design of the initial stage 4 services was then undertaken due to route complexities and fire constraints. As a result of these significant alterations, we led the stage 4 M&E design and conducted calculation checks.
