This mixed-use development incorporates the London College of Contemporary Music with 41 luxurious private apartments. The college resides in the lower five levels of this new 14-storey landmark building, with the residential floors encased in distinctive vertical ‘spines’ above.

Our Role

We have completed design duties for the mechanical and electrical engineering services, including public health and lifts. Our designs started with a groundbreaking and comprehensive energy strategy for the development; one of the first to meet the GLA target for a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions.

The Outcome

The scheme includes a number of sustainable features including on-site carbon reduction initiatives through local CHP plant, enhanced U-values and high efficiency plant. Vertical solar shading fins wrap the upper façade, designed to reduce cooling energy consumption, whilst air source heat pumps provide comfort cooling where applicable.
