A new 1033-acre eco-town of 3,500 new homes with plans for future expansion to over 6,000 new homes, the settlement also includes new employment areas, a town centre, a multi‑purpose building and new primary and secondary schools.

Our Role

We have been assisting the development consortium for Cranbrook since 2004, having initially been appointed to help move the project through the planning process with a series of technical appraisals.

Our services included:

  • Budget and financial management on the £875m GDV scheme
  • Contract drafting, tendering and administration
  • Cost reporting and cost control
  • Project management of infrastructure delivery across the scheme

During this time, our role has been extended to include project management and financial control services. We have helped lead innovation through the development of district heating and project procurement routes and have led on the delivery of major infrastructure across the whole scheme including securing technical approval for S.38, S.104 and S.278 agreements, and carrying these through to formal adoption by the relevant local authorities.

They make me feel comfortable, they’re reliable and they instil confidence.

The Outcome

We worked to engineer value at all stages, avoiding the use of a detrimental indexation category and delivering a cost saving of £4m for the developers.
