The proposed development site is located to the north of Kenward Road, Yalding and also land to the south of Kenward Road is proposed as recreation area. The application was for the development of up to 112 dwellings with access provided from Kenward Road in the form of a Priority Junction arrangement.

Our Role

Brookbanks supported the application with a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan together with Flood Risk assessment, Drainage strategy and Utilities work.

The application, whilst receiving officer recommendation for approval, was refused planning permission with the reasons given to being harmful to the rural setting and lack of support for alternative modes.

The Outcome

Brookbanks supported the appeal process and produced a Proof of Evidence which demonstrated that there was no proper basis for the highway reasons for refusal. The highways reason was dropped prior to the hearing.

Planning approval was subsequently granted by the Planning Inspector.
