British Sugar, Kidderminster
A 74-acre brownfield site that housed the former British Sugar beet factory from 1925 that has been redeveloped into a residential scheme, including a new highway bridge over the River Stour and the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal.
Our Role
On this project we prepared infrastructure and on plot civil engineering designs for a Bovis Homes residential development on the site of a former sugar refinery in Kidderminster.
Some of our responsibilities included:
- Highway design
- Drainage & Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Earthworks & levels
The Outcome
The outcome of our work supported the regeneration of c. 74 acres of Brownfield land into mixed used residential lead development space. This has helped change a derelict site into a thriving new community in Kidderminster complete with a new convenience store, care home and a leisure centre.
