Having started his career following graduation as a structural cad technician, Chris progressed to a graduate engineer though to Principal Engineer and then Associate in 2 large multi-disciplinary engineering consultants.
In 2011, he joined Reuby and Stagg as a senior engineer and was promoted to the position of Director in 2013.
With over 25 years’ experience in Structural engineering design, analysis and project management, Chris has delivered a large number of significant schemes across the UK, ranging from residential masonry buildings to multi storey tower blocks and complex commercial developments.
Chris has a wide variety of skills, including:
- Day to day running of a busy Structural engineering team.
- Responsible for the management and delivery of large multi storey residential and commercial structural schemes.
- Design and analysis of multi storey concrete framed structures using finite element analysis.
- Design and analysis of multi storey steel, masonry, and timber structures.
- Client relationships and business development.
Chris has particular skills in providing lean and cost effective concrete framed building designs as part of Reuby and Stagg’s overall reputation for providing highly efficient structures.
Career highlights include:
Responsible for the structural engineering delivery of the Centenary Quay development in Southampton over a period of 10 years. This was delivered in 6 phases and included a 27-storey tower constructed off a purpose-built island adjacent to the river Itchen.
Responsible for the delivery of Millwrights Place, a 14-storey concrete framed building located in central Bristol. R&S provided an alternative Stage 4 scheme for a frame contractor as part of a design and build contract. The final structure provided by R&S was found to be £1m cheaper than the original engineer’s design.
