Major transportion network upgrades were required to support over 2,000 new homes and 1.2 million square feet of employment uses at North East Bridgwater.

Brookbanks undertook assessments to develop a strategic link between the A38 Bristol Road and A39 Bath Road, substantially improving the distribution of traffic across the town.  The route included a challenging alignment, constrained by land control, over an existing main railway, which could not be closed during construction.  Difficult ground conditions resulted in the development of an innovative geotechnical strategy to control settlement.

The company undertook the preliminary transportation and highway assessments, followed by the detailed design and project management, supporting the process as contract administrator and quantity surveyor.

Services included:

  • Infrastructure project management
  • Financial control & quantity surveying
